dwMap Companion Phone App

NOTE this optional Companion phone app has fewer features than the https://dynamic.watch website, which is fully mobile-enabled and works great on your phone. dwMap connects directly to the website.  However the phone app is a handy way of doing some everyday interactions with dwMap, and allows you to store routes on your phone to later send to dwMap when you are offline.

Our dwMap Garmin Connect IQ app is designed to work with the dynamic.watch website to simplify managing your routes and settings.  That's how most free and Premium users use it, and the website is mobile-friendly and works great on your phone.

However we've had a lot of requests to be able to use a phone app instead of the website, primarily to change the current dwMap route when an Internet connection is not available, so we've put together a small, "companion" phone app as an option to allow dwMap users to do this.

If you're a Premium user you can also browse and use routes from your Route Collections and explore routes, segment and activities in your linked Strava and Ride with GPS accounts.

The dwMap Companion App is available for both iPhone and Android phones, and lets you:

• Log-in to your dynamicWatch account using Strava, Facebook or your email/password.
• Download your routes so they are available when your phone and watch are offline.
• Preview a route on a street, satellite or OpenCycleMap map.
• Send a route directly to the dwMap app on your watch.
• Change your activity type and other frequently used dwMap settings.
• Create a Quick Route from your current location to a destination, and send it to dwMap.
• Import GPX files from other apps or downloaded GPX files to send to dwMap.

You can use the app in the same 6 languages (English, French, Italian, Dutch, Spanish, German) that we support on our website and Garmin Connect IQ Apps.

The dwMap Companion Phone App is designed to work with our dwMap app on Garmin watches, and is not compatible with our routeCourse app or mapField data field.
