NOTE this optional Companion phone app has fewer features than the https://dynamic.watch website, which is fully mobile-enabled and works great on your phone. dwMap connects directly to the website. However the phone app is a handy way of doing some everyday interactions with dwMap, and allows you to store routes on your phone to later send to dwMap when you are offline.
When you start the app each time, it will connect to the website and sync your main route list (the list of your favorite routes shown on the website).
You can immediately send any of these routes to dwMap on your watch. If you have a Premium account then you can also mark routes "Keep for offline use" and they will be downloaded to your phone. You can then send them dwMap even if you are offline later.
- Below the route name we show:
- Length of route, in miles or km (depending on your phone's settings)
- Elevation gain, in feet or meters
- Location name
- Distance and direction to the start of the route
-
To the right of the route name, in the white box, icons are shown for:
-
Top-right: route source (eg Strava, etc)
-
Bottom-right: activity type (eg Cycling, etc) if known
-
- Tap on a route to preview it and for more options.
- Premium users can mark which routes they want to have available offline. This can be done by choosing Keep for Offline Use when previewing the route, or by just tapping the white icons box at the right of a route's name:
The "cellphone" icon at the top-left indicates this route is now stored on the phone and can be later sent to dwMap even when you are offline. - If you need to re-sync the route list, you can pull it down and it will refresh its routes from the website.
- To change the sort order of the routes, click on the menu at the top-right and choose from name, length of the route, newest or the distance to the start of the route.
- The app will automatically use miles or km depending on your phone's settings.
- If you are offline, routes that are not stored on the phone (and so are currently unavailable) will be shown in gray.
