- Enter an address or place name into the Search box (on bottom-left menu)
- Choose Show current location (also on bottom-left menu)
- Right-click on the map (long-touch on mobile)
Whichever way you start, a popup appears at the resulting location, from which you can choose Set as route start/end.
You can, of course, continue to edit the route as normal afterwards, for example to refine the roads/paths added to get you to and from the original route from your chosen location. And if you don't like the result, just hit the new Undo button (see below).
An Example
The animation here shows a classic loop in the French Alps starting in Morzine, heading southwards up through Les Gets to Taninges and Samoëns then over the very challenging Col de Joux Plane back to Morzine. But what if you are staying in the Hôtel Alpina in Les Gets, not in Morzine? Just enter it into the search box and from the popup choose Set as route start/end. Planner will move the start to the door of your hotel, then has you join the original route as it comes through Les Gets. Towards the end, the route now continues on from Morzine back up to Les Get and your hotel. We zoom into Les Gets to adjust the route a little to come through the old town instead of joining it on the main road.
Undo
If you don't like the outcome just click the Undo button, as we've replaced the old "remove last point" feature with a true undo, which takes you back one step in your editing process each time you click it. It stores the last 20 steps.
