Normally you will find dwMap on the same list as the built-in activity features such as Run and Bike, usually found when you press the Start button when on the normal default watch face screen.
However, if your watch supports "widgets" (and most recent Garmin watches do) then you will find it there too!
The widget loop is where you find some of the cool built-in features such as Weather, Heart Rate and your Sleep Score.
The dwMap widget shows the name of the route it currently has downloaded, and will check-for and download a new route if available. You can launch dwMap from the widget just by pressing Start when it is the center widget on the screen.
You can launch dwMap either way, your choice. The widget mode does offer the slight advantage that it will download a new route before you start the app, so you'll know that dwMap is ready to use with the latest route as soon as you start it.
