You can use the dwMap app on your watch without a active device route. Although you can always use the app with a route that is nowhere near where you currently are, if this is the case you might want to remove the route. This will let the map view be scaled better to fit your activity, and we use the precious watch memory that is freed up to show more detailed breadcrumbs of your activity. This may help guide you better back to your start point and orient you as to where you in relation to where you have been.
To remove the active route map, you can either choose Delete Route from the app's menu on the watch (press-hold Up on watches without a menu button), or you can click on the for the active device route on your route list to toggle it off , and restart the watch app (or choose Refresh on the app's menu).
If you have upgraded to dwMap Premium you will still be able to choose your activity start point using the Go To feature and be guided back to it.
