Routes imported from Ride with GPS, or from TCX files from route services such as plotaroute.com, usually include a list of "course points", often known as a "cue sheet", which give turn-by-turn directions along the route. These are often superior to the turn instructions that your Garmin device can generate, especially if your Garmin does not have good built-in maps.
dynamicWatch Premium knows how to extract these cue sheets and include them in the routes (courses) that routeCourse downloads to your Garmin Edge or GPS watch.
If you do not want the cue sheets in your downloads, you can disable them, in Settings - routeCourse Settings.
Garmin Edge models allow for up to 200 cue sheet course points per route, and can show the labels of the points (eg "Turn Right on Station Rd"). Garmin watch models allow only 50 course points per route, and just show turn direction arrows.
Turn by Turn without Cue Sheets
If a route downloaded by routeCourse does not include cue sheet directions your device may be able to generate them if it has built-in maps.
On the Fenix 5X and 5 Plus, and 6 and 6X Pro watches, in the Bike or Run activity, go to Settings, then there should be an option Routing - Courses. There choose "Use Map", not "Follow Course".
On an Edge 820/1000 (or an Edge 520 with maps installed), you should be able to enable "Turn Guidance" and "Off Course Warnings" in Course Settings.
On the Edge 1000 go to Courses on the main menu, select the menu button (three horizontal bars) and turn on Turn Guidance and Off Course Warnings.
On the Edge 820 the menu button is in Navigation > Courses > Saved Courses.
